Decentralized Scientific Publishing using AT protocol
In general, science needs two things:
- publish as much as we can in the open and make it accessible to everyone
- incentivize researchers, scientific infrastructures, curators, publishers and AIs to do the best work of their lives
One way to do it might be to:
- make science self-publishing using decentralised protocols the default
- redefine traditional journals and publishers as curators or labelers on top of the network
More realistically, we can:
- build just a little demo of how we could publish science using battle tested decentralized social network protocol
- let a small community of researchers use the demo and watch if they have sparkles in their eyes
Announcing the version 0.0.0 of ATxiv.app
The ATxiv.app application build on AT protocol allows anyone to:
- publish scientific papers, follow others, comment and interact with their content (publishing and chat)
- develop custom Feeds and curate content (curate, label, make a journal)
This is a hypothetical release blog post. The app exists only in concept, thus version 0.0.0. But the protocol is there already, the social network features are there already. You know what the demo needs. More features can be added anytime later. The domain is free. Anyone can build it.
